It is designed to enable rapid and effective impressioning of pin cylinder locks, through the acquisition of superior and well-defined impression marks. The system places less stress upon both the lock being imprisoned and the keyblank being used than conventional techniques. This result in less “loose” locks and greatly reduces “sign” or marking on the lock plug & a corresponding reduction in cracked and/or broken keys.
The advantage of the system lies in the fact that the pre-prepared keyblank is placed under controlled rotational tension and then pulled out of the lock under precise control a predetermined amount. This allows the binding pins to leave marks upon the keyblank that are far superior to the marks created by conventional “bump” impressioning.
